Alessia started her career as Financial Service Auditor in one of the big fours companies in Milan, where she acquired knowledge about external financial auditing activities. Then, one of the largest global insurance providers offered her a challenging opportunity in Trieste. She joined a newly constituted office where the mission was to improve the internal control system, putting in place appropriate administrative and accounting procedures in compliance with the provisions of the Italian “Law 262/05” (which draws on the “Sarbanes-Oxley Act”). In 2015 the same company offered an international experience in Brussels and thanks to that she started working in Compliance. She joined the Head of Compliance for the EMEA Regional Office with the objective of creating a new Compliance Department aimed at ensuring the coordination and the monitoring of the compliance activities between the EMEA local companies and Head Quarter. She supported the Compliance Officers of different European entities with Governance & Reporting, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime and Risk Monitoring & Control Assurance and Business Integrity.
In 2019 Alessia was appointed Compliance Testing & Monitoring Officer in the Belgian Branch of a large Japanese Corporate Bank. She was responsible for the “Compliance Testing and Monitoring Program” to challenge the local ethics and compliance framework, to ensure adherence and conformity with external regulations, while addressing and overseeing compliance duties.
In 2022 she joined the Headquarter of a Belgian global provider of Financial Market Infrastructure services with the role of Audit Manager within the Compliance, Fraud, Governance and Legal domain. Finally, in June 2023 she decided to launch herself as an independent consultant for Lighthouse as senior compliance, risk & control expert.
Having been involved in multi-cultural and multi-lingual environments, Alessia developed her team work skills further and at an international level. She is a hard worker and result-oriented person, being always analytical and methodical when approaching problems. Establishing relationships, listening, communicating clearly, motivating others, engaging in difficult discussions and finding diplomatic solutions are her professional strengths.
She speaks Italian, English, French, Spanish and a bit of Portuguese.
Alessia enjoys travelling, horse-riding and running. She loves spending time with her two kids and as well a nice glass of wine with her friends.
